GOALS:

            1.         To ensure admission of only suitable subjects.

            2.         To ensure efficient, accurate admissions, surgical procedures and releases.

            3.         To maintain accurate records.

            4.         To secure “friends and funds”.





PROCEDURE:

            1.         After the “Admissions Screening” telephone interview, send the contract and instructions to the caller. Advise the caller that all materials must be in place at least one week before the scheduled surgical date or the time slot will go to another applicant: contract, Windsor Star ad, $50 bond - cash or validated credit charge.

            2.         Set a tentative surgical date approximately three weeks hence:

            3.         Ascertain whether the cat will arrive in a trap or carrier. Advise applicant that each cat must arrive in a separate safety container and that they will have to have the same when the cats are picked up from JH.

            4.         When all documents arrive, record all information in computer file.

            5.         Call the care giver and advise them to have the cat(s) at the clinic at between 12:00 - 12:30.

            6.         Prepare a carrier for all cats scheduled to arrive at the clinic.

            7.         Print out identifying labels for each cat carrier scheduled for a clinic day.

            8.         Prepare for admissions.
